Join us on Sunday at 10:30 for a vibrant, multi-generational worship service where everyone is welcome. Whether you’re with us for the first time or the thousandth time, whether you’re in doubt or are devout, no matter who you are, what experience you bring, or what questions you have, you are welcome here.
Central believes in fostering a worship service that is engaging to all ages, in the full inclusion of LGBT people, and in an inclusive communion open to all regardless of membership or baptism status and served on the first Sunday of every month. We seek to welcome all and celebrate our differences in race, class, and sexual orientation.
What to expect
From the moment you enter, expect to be welcomed with a smile and a bulletin that will explain the worship service. People come dressed however they feel comfortable; some wear casual clothes and some are dressed in “Sunday Best” attire. You’ll notice when you enter that there are lots of people chatting in our lobby area. Feel free to meet some new friends, or have a seat in our sanctuary—we recommend sitting in the front or middle sections to most feel the spirit of the community. Our services follow a typical protestant format: there is singing, prayers, readings, choral and instrumental music, and a thoughtful message from the pastor. The service lasts a little over an hour.
Central values all generations in worship together, and children are welcome in the sanctuary each and every Sunday. We expect and enjoy the joyful noises of children, as they are a vibrant part of our faith community. During the service, children may walk up to the art table which has pencils, crayons and a variety of coloring sheets and paper. Worship bags for children are also available in the lobby, which contains crayons and other worship materials. Our nursery, on the first floor next to the sanctuary, is supervised by qualified nursery staff for children 6 years and younger.
After the service, everyone is invited for coffee and snacks in our lobby area, where you can meet new friends, speak with the pastor, or meet our talented staff. And if it’s your first time, make sure to pick up a bag at our sound booth on your way to coffee hour.
